2018 NBMBAA Charlotte Chapter Scholarship Program Open April 2, 2018


The National Black MBA Association Charlotte Chapter is proud to announce its 2018 Undergraduate and Graduate Scholarship Program. This year we will award a monetary scholarship to qualified minority, undergraduate and graduate students. The 2018 undergraduate scholarship award will be $1,000.00, and awarded to one undergraduate student.  The 2018 graduate scholarship award will be $2,000.00 and will be awarded to one graduate student. Funds to be used towards college related expenses.  If you are interested in applying for this award please follow the guidelines below: 

Requirements for Undergraduate Scholarship Award:
Applicant must be a minority student currently enrolled full-time in their second, third, or fourth year enrolled full-time in an accredited undergraduate business or management program at the time of award working toward a bachelor degree.  Applicant must be a permanent resident of North Carolina or South Carolina.
Applicant must submit a two-page, double-spaced, APA type-written essay in response to the following topic:
African Americans continue to lag in the achievement of financial wealth, how can the Charlotte Chapter of the National Black MBA Association contribute to the improvement of economic mobility for African Americans in the Charlotte community?
The Scholarship Program must receive an official undergraduate transcript directly from the attending college / university in which the applicant is enrolled. Applicant’s GPA must be 3.0 or higher. A completed application, two-page essay and official, sealed transcript (from the college/university) must be postmarked and mailed no later than Tuesday, May 15, 2018.  Please send to the following address:

*Only award recipient will be notified.  Due to overwhelming response, we are unable to confirm individual inquiries regarding confirmation of receipt of scholarship application and scholarship award.  To ensure timely receipt, please adhere to postmark deadline. 

Winner must attend a NBMBAA Charlotte event to be formally recognized.  Scholarship award will be issued directly to attending college / university.

Applicant must submit a two-page, double-spaced, APA type-written essay in response to the following topic
What do you think are the biggest problems in diversifying the America’s executive workforce?  What approaches or solutions might be the most strategic and might those solutions be implemented?

The Scholarship Program must receive an official graduate transcript and/or an official graduate school acceptance letter directly from the attending college / university in which the applicant is enrolled.  Applicant’s GPA must be 3.0 or higher.

A completed application, two-page essay and official, sealed transcript (from the college/university) or graduate college acceptance letter when applicable must be postmarked and mailed no later than Tuesday, May 15, 2018.  Please send to the following address:
